Back in late 2004, I (Jason of Nokternal Hemizphear Records) came in contact with the members of Frost Like Ashes while they were working on their first full-length album. It all started when I placed an order for some FLA merchandise from their webshop. Through a series of God-ordained events that begun with the band shipping me the wrong items for my order, our conversations about my ability to do artwork started. I was well-out of practice, having not done any artwork in nearly 15 years. To my surprise, the band wanted to see some of my artwork and wanted me to show them some conceptual art that would fit with their album “Tophet”. I scrambled to get them some sketches and colored pencil artwork (colored pencil, can you believe it!?). In the weeks that followed, God let me through a series of conceptual pieces of art. Most of the art did not fit the needs of the band, but in the end I was more than grateful when two of the symbols I had created were accepted and used in the CD layout for the album (Frost Like Ashes Sword and Tophet Logo).

After all of these years in the Christian metal ministry as Nokternal Hemizphear Records and the Metal Helm webshop, it was the encouraging words of Sebat from Frost Like Ashes (co-founder and guitarist) who so kindly spoke over the phone to me, “if you can learn how to do Photoshop and full CD layout that would really be good for you”. His words helped direct my art efforts as I soon thereafter taught myself Photoshop and now over 10 years later have been blessed with the opportunity to create artwork packaging and apparel for a plethora of Christian metal bands and organizations.

This special Frost Like Ashes conceptual artwork package for the album Tophet includes all original artwork (sketches, drawings, colored pencil art, and some original test prints). All artwork is dated and signed by me (JButz) and has never been seen by the public. Some of the drawings are rather humbling and hilarious to look back upon in their infancy, but still convey the true underground spirit of what I and the band were aiming to display for Tophet under the ultimate mission of spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in a brutal metal fashion. All artwork are on 8.5x11 paper except for a few pieces of other material products.

This art bundle will be securely packaged to prevent damage during shipping. Thus, the shipping cost will be higher due to how the items will be securely placed between cardboard, taped, and padded in a larger, flat box.
